Most features are exposed in own developed web GIS in which you cn add and view geograhic information on a dynamic web map.
Features:
Cave data set management
- adding / updating cave information (toponimy, localization, morphometry, description, discoverers; pictures from entrance, inside the cave and cave surface; topography/survey data, 2D/3D maps and other files resulting from survey; exploration history etc.)
- adding / updating surface data of sinkholes, faults, walls (localization, description, pictures)
- geolocating places / galleries in caves using existing georeferenced cave maps or using centerline projection on a surface map (web dynamic map)
- generic searching and viewing of geographic data in the system
- adding and viewing of photos (optionally georeferenced and shown on the map in their location)
- export of existing geographic data
- trip report management (trip reports tagged with location and participants)
- storing and viewing of 3D cave models (Therion - .lox and Survex - .3d)
Map viewing (GIS features)
- viewing of cave entrances in dynamic web maps correlated with different map layers (sattelite imagery, vectorial data sets, DEMs)
- viewing of cave centerline and POIs inside the cave over surface maps
- viewing georefernced raster maps (geology maps, mountain/touristic/topographic maps etc.)
- viewing of vectorial data stored in the system(formats: GPX, KML, shapefile, GeoJSON, WKT, WKB etc.)
- searching of geotagged features
- searching of places using external service
- distance / area measurement using geodesic calculation
- adding/loading map views (saving view window, map zoom, enabled layers, filters and other view parameters)
- export of current map view in image format
- easy web sharing of current web view using a dynamic web link

The typical GIS processing features adding/editing are minimal at this point, the main purpose of the system being data input and viewing in a system dedicated to speleology. SileGIX purpose is not to replace dedicated GIS packages (QGIS, ArcGIS, GlobalMapper etc.), packages needed for complex processing of geodata. The current system is not trying to replace applications dedicated to cave mapping or cave topography data processing (Therion, Survex, Walls, Compass) but to store and, in some cases, view data produced by these mentioned applications. For most tasks of storing and viewing various information, SilexGIS can work independently, without needing to install other GIS applications or topograhy/survey applications.
